Sammi Rotibi

Actor Sammi Rotibi talks about discovering creativity and inspiration through film, music, and life.

Tell us about yourself.

I’ve been in LA most of my adult life. Originally from Nigeria, West Africa. My journey has taken me through London, Miami, and finally LA. I’m an actor. I’m just a creative being. Love what I do.

What are you currently working on?

I was prepping to start shooting a TV pilot for NBC in Toronto before we got shut down and sent back to LA; now we’re just waiting to see when we go back. Not having a return to work date or a little normalcy is stressful.

“Art. Life. People. Stories. Music. Places. That’s what inspires me to keep creating.”

Times are unusual right now– what are you doing on a daily basis to stay positive and healthy?

What I do on a daily basis is go for long walks to clear my mind, then come home and exercise. I meditate as well.

What do you do to stay creative?

To stay creative I read and watch new TV series and films. I like watching new foreign shows and movies with talented actors that inspire me. I love discovering new music artists on Spotify. I’m really loving Johan Johannsson who’s just an amazing composer. Listening to his compositions inspires me to be better creatively.

What inspires you to keep creating?

Art. Life. People. Stories. Music. Places. That’s what inspires me to keep creating.

Who or what are your current muses?

My girlfriend is my muse.

Where can we follow you?
